Hi all, can anyone advise me why it takes 30 minutes plus to transfer an mp3 file (4.00 song) to my phone ? I havnt had the patience to wait until it finishes the transfer as I feel I am doing something wrong and the process should be faster.
also when I transfer pictures and themes ir takes ages too but if i then send it to another phone via infra red it is a lot faster.
can anyone advise what I am doing wrong, the music file I want to send are saved as Windows Mediamp3 files.
thanks. |

Try increasing the speed on the COM port that corresponds to your cable under device manager.
The default speed is usually 9600.

If your using SE's phone suite's file manager, forget it, and use K700DateiManager - http://k700.hitziger.net
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence of your attempt !! |

This sounds like the way forward... can you tell me where I can find the device manager on windows XP, I have looked under all tabs in control panel but I cant spot anything about port speeds.
.......................................................................................
Found it but the bits per second is set to 115200
Data Bits 8
Parity NONE
stop bits 1
Flow control NONE
Any Ideas ?

| usually the transfer time is very slow when you have usb 1.1 ports on your computer. anyway, the device manager on your computer can be found doing this: right click on the my computer icon on the desktop then select hardware the window opens and search for universal serial bus controllers look for the port that says dcu-11 and then properties and search for the speed.

the settings for the DCU-11 port are as follows...
bits per second is set to 115200
Data Bits 8
Parity NONE
stop bits 1
Flow control NONE
are there any settings for receive speed on the k700i ? looked thru connectivity and cant spot anything, although infa red is fast enough.

USB 1.1 is fast enough to handle speeds for serial connections or USB-serial emulation such as that of the DCU-11. USB 1.1 can give up to 12Mbps which is even fast enough to handle a BT 1.1 speed so I think the version of the USB is not the issue here.
resistance is futile. |
