for opera, you need to use the internet APN, not globe's WAP GPRS APN. just call globe for the settings. |

ok I read up and found out you could activate it thru text. BUT when I texted, they said that this was only available to post paid subscribers.. any postpaid subscribers here care to share the settings? |

if the internet APN is only available to postpaid subscribers, then you're out of luck. you can put the settings into your phone, but when you try to connect, the network should detect that it's a prepaid SIM and therefore not give you access. |

Yup, it's only available for post paid Globe subscribers. I wanted to also use Opera and also the built-in email client on my P910 but Globe's CS said it's not available for us prepaid users. Smart prepaid users on the other hand can use Opera and also have access to mail servers.
Day by day as I use my Sony Ericsson Phone, I find more and more reasons not to go back to Nokias.
Sorry Nokia fans but that's life . . . |

yes your right, that is one of the advantages of the post paid subscriber over prepaid, so get a plan now & enjoy your phone features to its fullest.

i'm on postpaid and there's a certain gprs service that is only available for us.. they call it EWAP! i have used it for several months already without having problems to pay for my browsing! hehe..
i did have a friend that i helped to setup ewap on his p900 and it worked.. but now globe told my other friend that ewap activation is only for postpaid subscribers, hmmm.. that i doubt! coz' i remembered that 6600, p900 etc etc, will only work if EWAP service is activated.. activation is done by application.. you need to call the customer service to have your number activated with ewap or you can go to the nearest globe center..
Ewap APN:
ewap.globe.com.ph
gateway ip:
203.177.42.214
Server Address:
203.177.42.214
Port Number (or proxy):
8080
