Yes, it should do. I have an O2 contract sim, and also one of those Genie sims with 300 texts/month etc. I have set that up fine to check my Virgin POP3 account. You can get the settings for O2 GPRS etc. from the O2's website sent for free to your phone.
If you go to Sony Ericsson's website, you can get the email settings for your particular provider sent to your phone for free from there.

Thanks - I downloaded the settings a few times now and am trying to access a pop3 btconnect account. I rang O2 payg helpline and they put me on to some technical line who told me it was impossible as I need to be on contract to use "mobile web" which is O2's web/email thingy.
I might try another e-mail account - any suggestions?? |

You can only use the email client on o2 via a contract sim now. They changed it some months back. They are right in what they say about needing mobile web which doesn't work on PAYG. |

I have O2 PAYG and I have been using O2 email (out-going and in-coming) on this phone. It's gone a bit iffy these past 2 days but so have their SMS servers.

Right, you need a username. Register at the O2 site with your mobile number.
Connect using: O2 WAP GPRS
Protocol: POP3
Inc server: mail.o2.co.uk
Incoming port 110
Mail box: username@o2.co.uk (use your actual username)
Password: use your o2 password
Outgoing server: smtp.o2.co.uk
Outgoing port: 25 |
