EuroTel Bratislava, a.s. announces that the company commences a three-week transition period that will culminate on 2 May, 2005 and will result in full rebranding to T-Mobile, a change of company name to T-Mobile Slovensko and integration of the company into the T-Mobile brand family, representing one of the largest mobile communication companies worldwide and the largest and most active one in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.

EuroTel and T-Mobile International have cooperated closely since 2002. In December 2004, Slovak Telecom became the sole owner of EuroTel Bratislava by purchasing the remaining 49% of shares of the company. The transaction resulted in the decision by the Board of Directors of EuroTel to rebrand the company into T-Mobile, thus making it the 9th member of the brand family. The rebranding is the final step in exploiting further synergies between EuroTel and T-Mobile group.

“As sole shareholder of EuroTel, we perceive its joining T-Mobile International as a strong potential for further growth and market share increase. Additionally, it is one of the important steps in increasing the value of our investment. The introduction of a world-wide brand T-Mobile will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the whole Slovak telecommunications market, because it will bring tangible benefits to all current and future customers of mobile telecommunications services within a short time period,“ said Miroslav Majoroš, President/CEO of Slovak Telecom.

EuroTel customers will be the main beneficiaries of the process; as a result, they will gain direct access to innovative products and services, exclusive mobile phones, world-class mobile content and seamless access to wireless voice and data services internationally under the T-Mobile brand. At the end of the three-week transition period, customers will be welcome in newly designed retail outlets and all media and direct communication will be compliant with the official T-Mobile corporate design.

The existing contracts of EuroTel with all customers, suppliers and other third parties will remain in effect with no need for modifications and updates as EuroTel Bratislava, a.s. will only change its corporate name to T-Mobile Slovensko, a.s., legally remaining the same corporate entity as prior to the changes.

“Slovakia closes the remaining gap in the very compact footprint of T-Mobile across the Central European region. Slovak customers will benefit through a triple boost: 1) internationally transparent services, 2) exclusive terminals, 3) new approaches to customer care,” said Robert Chvátal, CEO of EuroTel. He added: ”We are convinced that rebranding will prove beneficial not only for the Slovak customers, but also for our shareholder and 1,300 employees, who played a very important role in driving EuroTel to its current position. Their role will become even more pivotal in the months to come. In 2003 and 2004, EuroTel became the fastest growing mobile operator in the Slovak Republic and our ambition is to further increase our competitiveness under the new brand of T-Mobile.”

On the occasion of today’s announcement in Bratislava, René Obermann, CEO of T-Mobile International, stated: “With the change to the T-Mobile brand, EuroTel receives genuine added value. EuroTel has made excellent progress in recent years and significantly contributed to the overall development of mobile communications in Slovakia. The company will continue this successful development in the coming years as a member of the T-Mobile brand family, strengthening its position in the competitive environment in the Slovak market and further expanding into important growth areas. Our experience of positioning the T-Mobile brand has shown that the market position of telecommunications companies is given a sustained boost by an international brand. And it is precisely this effect we are striving to achieve in Slovakia as well.“
