There are many colour combinations that can make up 256 colours. Not all of these colours can be displayed on the t68. Try this thread for some help http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=2386&forum=16#post93405 |

It will look worse if:
1.)Original pic is 256 colors, but not websafe.
2.)Websafe colors, but higher res than 101x80 (This is cuz at a higher res, 256 colors is enough to dither and look better)
Safe way... editing a photo on your PC:
first, rescale it to 101x80 BEFORE you reduce colors. Then reduce the colors to websafe/windows system, then adjust the dithering pattern to suit the way you want it to look.
Yes, 256 screens wont look as good as the newer 12-bit ones... but I do know that the T68 will still outperform newer phones out there. Even the "hi-tech" 7650 is NOT tri-band, has only 4MB mem (The T68 w/ the MCA-20 has more mem I think) And besides... compare proper price range phones... P800 vs 7650. |

I have to disagree. Web save colours do have 256 colours (216 technically), but its not the same palette as the t68 is using. Its best to download the t68 colour palette, resize your image, then apply the colour palette to the pic. Saving as web colours do not gurantee good results. |
