My new T65(a month old) restarts automatically. It happended twice. Is it because the signal is weak? Is it a problem with the service provider or problem with the T65 handset. Even if the signal is weak why should it restart?? Kindly help!! |

I also have a new T65 that is only 2 Weeks old I am in Australia, mine has F/W R4A007, asked the local SE Help Line about the phone crashing, rebooting & locking up when you have used gprs, phone needs to be dialled into to unfreeze input, which only happens occasionally thank goodness.
Checked with the Local Service Centre in Brisbane, & it appears that there is a F/W upgrade to R5A010. i checked this out about 2 days ago, it is supposed to fix some GPRS Bugs mainly, but haven't manage to get mine done yet will supposedly take about 2Hrs so will have to leave it there when I remember to grab my receipt
Suggest checking your F/W to see what it is.

@innumonenu:
Which SW version do you have?
Had similar problems with my T65 on R2A, haven't had any such (well, almost none - happened a couple of times in 3 months) since I upgraded to R4.
According to some old post, the restarts might be due to software incompability with Nokia basestations, which logically should be fixed in later SW releases. I seem to recall frequent random restarts when at work, where I know positively there's a Nokia station...
Anyway, anyone know anything about R5?
Went to my local SC today to get the upgrade, but all the techs who worked with SE phones happened to be "sick" (we're officially having the best summer in 132 years up here in Trondheim ), so I can't get it until next week.
Anything else than GPRS bugs fixed? Faster T9?

I had my T65 in 4 days now and the 2nd day when i activated GPRS and used it for the first time the speaker stopped work. So i closed the phone and when i did that the light were on in 2-3 minutes, it didnt help to take out the SIM card it stilled were on (in this time i were yelling on the damn phone with cause of the inbuilt battery). Then it just closed and since then it worked excellent. I got FW R4A007.
BTW:I closed the phone after i had activated GPRS then i used it for the first time... |

I have t65 almoust a month and it happens every day to shut down spontaniusly or the display frees. The only thing which i can do is press and hold about 10 sec the off button. I ask the local SE service and they take my phone for a week. When i get it back, its still hepening. What should i do?

i brought my phone back 3 times to a local ericsson service point here due to the replacements they give me has defects like it cannot detect my service provider. i wish i had'nt upgraded my phone to them so that i would not have this dilemma right now. service point's fault mainly and i'm having second thoughts of getting another phone besides ericsson and nokia. to others here with problems, just try a software upgrade and maybe your problems might disappear.

I own a T65 and heard about that problem with speaker noise. So far i have not encountered that problem. I think it was with their first batches in sweden that had that problem. Also no problem with the battery. And i think most ericsson acces are universal

Hi have had my T65 upgraded to R5A010 haven't had any reboots as yet but only got it done yesterday and don't really use it a lot. On a side note I have noticed that every phone I have sent in for a F/W upgrade has had a new System Connector fitted, whether it be an Ericsson or a Nokia phone. What bugs me about that is they then have to open the phone and it ends up full of dust on the inside of the Display. This has happened on the T65. Did not notice that they had done this until after I got back to the Office.

Your phone restarts because it simply crashes! As it can't recover, it just reboots itself. That's annoying, but less than if it wouldn't restart... Anyway, it BUGS!

it does a complete restart... shutdown itself and then start up again... you don't see if it has restarted if you don't have any PIN code for your sim card.
it can also be the sim card reader that causes the restarts, so it doesn't necessarily have to be caused by the software.
