s700i cant ring out or accept calls |

Just bought a brand new sony ericsson s700i with vodafone. I cant receive or make calls or texts. It says network problem and i have a phone with an x next to it. I have tried the master reset. I can accept calls from all callers in the settings. I managed to send 1 text and then it stopped working. I have a good signal strength.
any ideas?

Is the phone on a new account? if it is then vodafone probably not set up your account properly yet. if it doesnt work tomorrow then take it back.

new contract this afternoon. wife bought a samsung at the same time and shes well away. my sim card works in her phone.

try your wifes sim in your phone and your sim in your wifes phone

neither of the sims work on my phone but both work on my wifes |

take the phone back and get them to exchange it as it is faulty. sorry its bad news
