When you flash your phone with a new f/w, you lose everything the old f/w had. You can use the apps again if you have them and reinstall them. It's not a SE problem, I think it's a common fact...

Yes it is reed up, once you have flashed it and you go to apps it says empty so when you reinstall them it says app already there so you have to replace it and then go back to apps and try and it says no apps installed but when you go onto options and look at folder info it has data in it but no files.

For which applications are you talking about? Did you had them installed in the MS or in the phones memory?

Well, if you have the World mate, I don't think that you need the world clock. Which f/w version do you have?

it seems to be a bug - in both R1J and R1S - although SE claim it is a hardware problem (eg not in the firmware).

For some reason, the apps/games don't correctly show up in the browser - you can't reinstall them, as they are there, but don't show.

Check the memory used by each folder...

considering the fact that the same hardware with different firmware does not behave the same that sounds like BS to me

It has to be a firmware problem. R1S is vodafone firmware through a regular (SE approved) update and shouldn't delete your apps to begin with. R1J does not act in the same way (at least it didn't for me)

Have you considered using non-vodafone software? (of course this will do no good if you need their repair service!)
