bought my new sync station to update my firmware on my k700i after reading all your responses to others. went through the process of installation etc. only for the service to tell me that my vodafone does not allow the use of the online update. is this a problem that always happens or am i just missing something? |

Vodafone do not allow the use of the SEUS, presumably because of their heavy branding. If you take your handset to a service centre, they'll do it for you.
The other option is to unbrand the phone, but of course, this will (in theory) void your warranty, but on a brighter note, will make the phone a lot better!

Vodafone do allow use of SEUS though, how odd that it won;t work on K700?

I don't know about in the Netherlands, but Vodafone UK certainly don't allow subscribers to use the SE Update Service. I asked them why and was given some bullshit answer about wanting to preserve the quality of Vodafone's own version of the firmware! |

yea contacted them and in usual vodafone style were very slow getting back with an answer. they dont like anything other than their fimware which is a bit unfare as everyone else can use and benefit from the improvements offered by updrading firmware. I assure you that I will not be buying vodafone again due to their poor attitude to the customers and their needs. |

which doesn't appear to be strictly correct.
VF UK do allow the use of SEUS for V800. Just not the K700i.... |
