As you have a syncstation I would buy a DavinciTeam credit from 619 on there forums, and replace the horribly broken Voda firmware with SE one. Will restore all functionality. Costs $8

Patience, I've been out all day - can't sit round reading Esato
DavinciTeam is a bit of software you can use for unlocking mobile phones, and for flash updating them (Sony Ericsson only, I think.)
You can download the software at http://www.davinciteam.com/ . It works with the syncstation you have (usually, I have known it not recognise the syncstation on some PCs.)
You'd connect your phone to the syncstation then use DavinciTeam to upload onto your mobile the latest generic firmware. That way you get rid of all the Vodafone restrictions etc. - basically you are replacing the software with the software you'd get if you bought the phone directly (sim free) from Sony Ericsson. You'd be able to do all the things same as mobiles whose software hasn't been b0rked by Vodafone.
One snag: it costs to use the software. You need to buy a "credit" or a "log" as it is sometimes called for every time you want the software to do something. So to upload a new firmware, you need 1 "credit".
A good way to get a credit is to give 619 $8 and he will send you the username and password you need to use the credit. 619 is his username on this forum - he posts sometimes - you can send him a message by "Private Messages" at the top of this forum (or via WAP) - ask him for a DavinciTeam credit, he'll tell you how to pay the money (Paypal generally) and bob's your uncle.

PS are you sure it is just a problem with the Voda software? Perhaps it isn't possible to transfer MP3s at all using Syncstation, only via BT or IR or something?
Also I would try Float Mobile Agent as that other guy posted, see if that does the job. Good bit of software. |
