If I create a midi file using Music DJ (SE K700i) it will not play on another make of cellphone or on a PC.

Though it has a .mid extension, is it a standard midi file?
Can this be fixed?

Yeah, I noticed that too. But I haven't tried to play it on another phone brand. I'll try to do something, and I'll let you know.
Cheers! [addsig]

A music dj file from a K700 can be played on a T230. Dunno about other brands. I have tested it.

Works on later SE phones, but not other makes of phones or PC.
Seems to me that the music DJ generates a non-standard midi file.

Why?

Dunno, but pounds like a stupid mistake on SE's part. Usually, this does not happen with SE.

It obviously has a non-standard header. I was able to open it using a Mac MIDI editor "MIDIgraphy" and saved it as a standard midi file now it can be played by any other MIDI compatible phone or PC.
resistance is futile.
