I believe it is time to summarize the questions and answers regarding the the GPRS-problems that some owners of both the T65 and the T68 have with GPRS...
Q1) Why are only some people having problems with GPRS?
A1) That depends on the GSM/GPRS-network. There are incomatabilities between different vendors, especially regarding the Nokia basestations.
Q2) How can you (that is I, jhb) know about the network problems?
A2) I have a friend that works for Ericsson that has told me about Nokias basestation problems. I have travelled around different parts of Sweden with my phone and I only have had problems in some parts of Telias network. I've called Telia about my problems and by asking if the problem-areas have Nokia basestations and if they have Nokia equipment where I have no problems, I've made my own conclusions...
Q3) When will the network problems be solved?
A3) Telia upgraded their basestations where I live between christmas and new years'. That decreased the problems, but there are still disturbances in the network.
Q4) Why do the phone act strange on these incompatibilities?
A4) It seems like the SW in the  phones can't handle all error-cases that can occur in the signalling interface, the ones they can't handle are probably not supposed to happen in a "normal" network...
Q5) Why did Ericsson release phones with these problems?
A5) My guess is that the've tested them thoroughly, but haven't used fault injection for errors. I also believe the phones have been tested in live networks, but I guess their test network has Ericsson basestations.
Q6) Will the problems with the phones be solved?
A6) Most definitely, I believe that the R2A release (for T68) only is the first step towards solving the problems. If there are outstanding problems, they will be solved in R2B (for T68). The problems with the networks will also be solved over time...
Q6) Is the T68 stable on R2A?
A6) I've had one crash since I upgraded, but no hanging of GPRS like I had before (with previously described problems lke: battery drainage, slow shutdown, missing calls etc).
