I heard that there are some settings done in a se phone after which 1 can send free sms using gprs in hutch.Can u lemme know the settings?

It used to work on hutch but now it says 'message failed'.

Some guys on airtel were able to do that. But not me.

Manish...go to Data Communication> SMS Access & select the GPRS option. I've tried it on Airtel and it works fine...( I think & hope its fine)..I'll know for sure when I get my bill...If there are no charges for the SMSs 've sent ...i guess it works

I used it about a year and half back on airtel prepaid...in 3 months i had sent free messages running in thousands but i then they wised up to it and it abruptly stopped working. This was with a nokia btw. It has never worked for me with hutch prepaid so i guess they have already made amends to prevent such misuse.

I thought it did work for me. But the airtel's balance info was messed up at that time.

Nitesh...what do you mean no option for sms access in T610
Check data communication...should give you 3 options....1) data accounts 2) preferred service 3) sms access
select sms access...should give you 2 options a) GSM b) GPRS...try selecting GPRS.....if you are on Orange prepaid....forget about making this work....Airtel prepaid...i dunno...worth a try
