Since my recent bought K700i got corrupted after an "apparently normal" SEUS upgrade session (now every time it freezes while browsing the Image folder), yesterday I got it back from a service lab BUT, even if thay stated they have upgraded the firmware, the problem is still there.
Now it's going to be delivered to them again...

QUESTION:
Any of you with a "bad SEUS upgraded" mobile could finally got it repaired by your respective Service Center?
In other words: is any Service Center with EMMA II *able* to "blank" the firmware and then flash it again entirely?

Thanks in advance,
Macco

I believe they can. You must specify that the SEUS has messed it up and it needs a complete re-flash.

Do you have many pics in the folders you're browsing? [addsig]

The 13 sec. trick would solve your problem. Search for how-to.

@Kruback:
just only the standard pictures of the original firmware! The problem is that 3 of them (proven by BT download) are partially corrupted, therefore the Thumbnail creation freezes the phone as soon as it tries to access them.

@hazart: many posts says that the 13" trick is compatible just only with some older mobiles like T610. Since the K700 has a different CPU and booting process, I can't figure out why 13" could be the right time to switch off such a different phone!
I may think it's all a legend (as far as the K700 is concerned)
On the other hand, I tried the Master Reset and it only could revert the names of the corrupted pics (before that, I had tried vainly to overwrite them through BT, having many _(1) & _(2) extensions), but the content retrieved from the firmware was faulty again and they were still corrupted in the end.

@619: I rather prefer keeping my warrany to last as long as I paid for. Using an unsupported tool would bring me without a warranty. No thanks..

Actually I didn't specify the Center that I've used SEUS. I jsut descibed the current freezing while browsing..
I do know that SEUS is a perfectly official way of upgrading a mobile but I can imagine that the Service Center, in the worst case, could argue what type of PC, firewall, connection, battery charge, I used during the process, eventually trying to give me some responsibility of such a situation (despite I used a perfect procedure and the log file was ok).
You can call me a "bastard", but I rather prefer keeping me as much as possibile out of the situation... O:)

Update:

finally yesterday I had my K700 back. Correctly and totally reflashed.
This does put an end to the question I arose with this thread.

Note: Even if it was reflashed in a Service Center between past friday 8 and monday 11, it's still fw R2AE, no R2AL.

Mmm..
Is it a coincidence or the R2AL was just released the "1st of April"?

Bye,
Macco

It must just be that the service centre hasn't got the new firmware yet. [addsig]
