I have a SE K700i, and on sunday morning I turned it off and back on again to update the time. When I did turn it on I found a little icon with a phone crossed out. I cannot use the phone to make or receive anything.

After lots of money in BT's ripoff crappy payhones (another story), I found that Vodafone has marked my phone as stolen.
My K700i was bought sim free from the carphone warehouse, and my pay as you go sim card was bought from the orange shop.

However, friday I called Vodafone to discuss issues that I once had, with a different account and mobile number. When you call Vodafone from a different network, I don't know if you know this, but all of the 'options' simply end up telling you that they cannot help you and cut you off (bit tight really).

So I phoned back and chose option 1, 1. This is for lost/stolen phones. And this allowed me to get through to someone. I explained and discussed my query, which as I say is unrelated to the current phone/network.

This can be the only explanation that I can find that my mobile has been blacklisted. My question to Vodafone is. If my mobile is lost/stolen, how would I be calling from it.

Intelligence has not really been applied unfortunately.

Has anyone had similar experiences?

Im now going to send my email to Vodafone.

A handset with a cross on it? Hmmm . . . . Did some one tell you, your phone is black listed? Or how did you arrive at that conclusion? Afaik, this might not a case of black listing.

After lots of money in the payhone, Orange told me that another network has blacklisted it, and Vodafone have 'reported it to the relevant department'
