Whenever I decide to replace the whole covers of some vintage Ericsson fones that I were able to acquire recently-2nd hand, my bill was pegged at 4 or 5 times more than the actual amount i paid for the vintage fones, recently were that of the t39mc and t28s.

Why is it so costly to repair a phone? It will only cost approx 2£ on service + parts extra.

@k700nut-Yup, nice to see you here again mate! Looks like you are also browsing via WAP using your Nokia. I was so glad that our local network-SMART, now has lifted it's ban from the Esato site. I am not used in buying merchandise in the net-Ebay and the like. Chances are you will be fooled when trading/buying more often than not!

Did you ask them to repair it?

They should have given you a quote first... argue miss uk, let your mouth go! Demand your phone, and dont pay

Its annoying, but i would leave it. After all 75 quid could be the difference between a K700 and a K750 [addsig]

That is a silly amount of money, but completely standard unfortunately - if it's a known fault (such as the screens with older Nokias) then you're best finding someone independent to fix it where the charges are far more reasonable.

Yeh, as @vanquish said, theyre meant to give you a quote first then ask if you still want it fixed.

I suggest you go to CPW, ask to look at it to see if it has been fixed, then grab your phone and run away *VERY* fast

Yup get a quote first and then think long and hard about having it repaired or selling it and buying a new phone.
