What is Bluetooth? |

Not to sound like an idiot, but I am getting a t68, and have been looking at information all over the net, which refers t bluetooth, but have not been able to find out what exactly it is? I live in Oregon and have ATT, will i be able to Download pictures, etc... |

Bluetooth is a type of communication between two devices, just like a cable or infrared connection. The Bluetooth standard uses radio technology though.
You will be able to transfer pictures, ringtones, and other stuff with a Bluetooth connection. Just like if you use a cable. The only difference is that you won't "see" the connection like you see a cable  |

does it require an IR sensor or somethine... How could i get pics etc... from a website or computer to my phone? Thanks for the help I have no idea.

connection doesnt need to be as clear as when using an infrared device. long range connection between devices too. |

An IR-device is another technology. It's kind of like when you buy a car. You have the choise of a diesel or petrol engine. Similarly you can choose if you want an IR or Bluetooth (BT). The advantage with the BT is that you don't need to point the two communicating devices to each other. Like, if you have a BT handsfree, you can keep your phone in your pocket and still talk with the handsfree (which is wireless). This is possible because the BT technology uses radio signals (you don't need to point your radio directly to an FM base station whenever you want to listen to the radio, do you? )
I haven't tried out any BT communication as yet, but will do when I get a new computer and a BT device
BT is also a newer technology than IR..

DId u know that the word bluetooth comes from a swedish king that was called Harald Blåtand(Bluetooth). He was known through out the country for communicating alot with people.
So now you know. 8=) |

k guys tthe geeza oviusly is lookin for plain butt naked answer not one saying how ya can make it launch a rocket in2 space 
bluetooth is a wireless technology
you can transfer data between two bluettoth enabled devices
you cannot download from websites via bluetooth as i think ur tryin 2 suggest in askin bout downloads
if u get th t68 (which u shud) n ur m8 has a phone wit bluetooth then you can exchange pics tones contacts etc etc all wirelessly and freely as long as ur within around 10metres of each other
its very nifty indeed 
i use it 2 exchange stuff wit m8s who also have t68
but yest i used a nok 7650 wit the pc suite and bluetooth connection and boy that is cooooooooool
with this kinda set up u can sync ur phone and outlook no probs upload images 2 ur pc v.quick n easy (and vice versa) also use ur phone as a modem (though not really worth the hassle unless ya got GPRS)
simple : no cables no cost

Sorry, but Harald was never a Swede.
Harald Bluetooth was a viking and King of Denmark between 940 and 981. One of his skills was getting people to talk to each other, and during his rule Denmark and Norway were christianized and united.

this is all well n godod but the example i seen in action was by far quicker !!
cant explain but it was
personally i wanna get a me an apple G4 n get it all hooked up 2 me t68i wit the new ical n isync programs for OSX jaguar

Just look at http://www.bluetooth.com and you will find bluetooth is and what are the advantages/disadvantages. Also, you would be able to find out of what it might be able to do in the future.
