The problem is, when the rightful owners report them as lost, won't the become blacklisted?

When an owner realises his/her phone is missing the first thing thing they'll do is call it to see if its stolen or maybe some nice samaritan has found it. Provided your dad doesnt switch off the phones(which he shouldnt under any circumstances unless obviously if the battery goes dead which in itself is an event of low probability as the rightful owner would probably call within a couple of hours) there doesnt seem an apparent way how the phone could remain unclaimed for three months. Now even if it does it, should clearly be dropped off at the police station as a report would probably have been lodged there and the phone itself would have been blacklisted.
Sorry for being cynical but i'll call it stealing as well. |

It's stealing IMHO. I personally would search for a contact like mom or dad or other family members or even friends and call him, that that person has droped his phone.

its fully legal not to call them and its dangerous to leave a mobile phone on at a petrol station and its not stealing but if they come asking for it he has to give to them so its not stealing! whizkid is right!
