Is there ANY way I can turn off the sound the camera makes when a picture is taken or when I start/stop recording a video?
I have a Sony Ericsson Z1010 with R1K010 firmware...

Does turning on silent mode help?

I tried putting it on the "Silent" profile; it didn't mute the camera sound, but it seemed to make it a little quieter...

As far as I know, the only way to do it is with cable + software. I had it done on my V802, as the camera sound was irritatingly loud |

I'm not sure about the firmware on my Z1010, but putting it on Silent doesn't change the noise. However, setting the phone volume to 0 in the Settings panel mutes the sound (levels 1-8 make the 'whi-pah' sound the same). Arsed if I can work out why.
So I'd change the profile to 'Meeting' for that. |

I thought by law all cameras had to make this sound. So I would assume it would be difficult to take it off. |
