K700i infrared problem. |

I'm going crazy with this.
I just purchased a second hand K700i and I'm having some problems with the infrared. The problem is that when I try to transfer pictures to my Toshiba e800 Pocket Pc via IR, the phone cannot send VGA pictures, only the lowest resolution picture. When trying to send VGA pics, the status will say "Sending" but the progress bar will freeze about half way followed by "Sending Failed". Sometimes I can't even connect at all, and it says "Connection Failed". Does anyone have any ideas? I hope it's just a firmware problem and that I didn't buy a defective phone.
There doesn't seem to be any problem sending the VGA pics to a T610 or T637. The T610 and T637 had no problems sending the VGA pics to my PPC, so I don't know what is going on. Although, i did succeed in one attempt in transfering a VGA pic from my K700i to my PPC.
Firmware Version: R2L001
Thanks.

As you said may hopefully it's just a firmware problem. Go to a store and have them check it out and ask them for the newest fw. Don't know which is the newest for K700i but they should know.
Good luck!

talllshorty,
i faced the same problem and same error messege when i got my K700i IrDa transfer files from my IBM laptap which is still running on windows 98 to K700i. And the best thing i was using R2AE.
anyway... i do not think the firmware upgrade of K700i will help u solve ya problem.
that's because i did a format to my IBM laptop and reinstalled with windows XP and the IrDa files transfer become extremely great without any problem.
i suspect windows problem because it's the same out laptop with the same old IrDa port. only things different was the Operating System whereby 1 running Windows 98 and 1 running Windows XP.
maybe u could find another same model toshiba PDA and try out. i might be wrong.... but that's what i faced before.
good luck

Thanks for the info guys.
I tried the phone with an older Toshiba PDA model and suprisingly it worked like a charm. No problems at all. Strange how I'm having problems with my newer model. I'm not sure what to do. |
