i whaaaaaaaaaaaaant it
and apparently, it's compatible with any wap (1.2.1 ?) phone,
R600 can use it.

But i don't understand taiwan language...

Why don't we have this in europe (for the moment) ?
because we pay (a lot) for sms,
for example, siemens have a news phone, M50, who have an ICQ client,
but in europe, the phone dont have it because operators don't whant it (just imagine... text messaging by icq on gprs for nothing... or by sms for 10~20 cents by message),
in asia, sms are free or have a very little cost.

For some reason, I'm starting to think these operators only want us to use SMS so we get charged more.

A few days ago, I was using AIM on my T68i, but Cingular now has blocked it and I can't anymore. What a load of crap.

Well...there is a site there you can logon to your ICQ and send messages to everyone having ICQ. And of course the ppl seeing
you "online" can send you messages as well.
On your phone and web browser:
http://wap88.com
I haven't try myself since I don't have any ICQ account, but I know ppl that have use it.

@Deltayoda:
Try to use another wap gateway, I'm sure that maybe help.
I just try that site with a public gateway like Ericsson's test gateway and it worked fine, so the site is not down.
Ericsson's gateway:
IP: 193.095.167.178
No user id needed
No Password needed

What I want is an AIM client for symbian ICQ or written in J2ME. I know AIM is for kids or watever but ive had it for YEARS (since they introduced IM like 8 years ago or something) and my buddy list is my primary mode of contact for a number of old and distant freinds. In any case I was thinking of taking on the task of writing a client for a GPRS phone (namely the P800 but Im just starting a 3rd year of comp sci at school and am just getting into actual practical programing instead of theory and wat not. I dont knwo a damn thing about J2ME, Symbian or network programing much less how to go about doing an AIM client but it would be great. I would love to be able to get my IM msgs all the time pushed to me via GPRS it would be totaly convient and wouldnt take up much bandwith at all.

One cheap hack of an idea I had was to do a server/c;lient just for my personal use that woudl recieve msgs on my computer then parse them simply and send them as text to the app on my P800 which would be a customized AIM interface. I honestly dont know how to implement this though. or even if it woul dbe a good idea. by far the best way woudl be to just write a normal AIM client but I hvent the faintest idea where to get started on that.

I know 3rd party clients have been written btu i havent done much research into them yet...

If anybody has any insights that may help me get on the road to producing this software I woudl greatly appretiate it i obviously cant ask for full explinations but referances to good learning material woudl be awesome so if u get a chance help a brother out!

This service must be installed by your provider.
For example my provider use software from
http://www.novosoft-us.com/solutions/mobile_mim.shtml

It working as SMS and I'm always online for my friends - all incoming messages is free, I pay only for messages which send by self.
