Hi folks.

Just after the new year, I invested in a brand-new Sony Ericsson T630 phone bought 'handset only' from Carphone Warehouse. I have one of those '300 free texts' SIM card free from O2. My phone has worked perfectly up until around four or five days ago.

For some reason, when I send texts, they don't always arrive at the number I've sent them. Sometimes, I don't receive texts others have sent me. I've done all sorts of tests using the SIM in another phone, texting other numbers, using other numbers to text me, and using other network SIMs in my phone and everything seems fine - it's just the O2 SIM in the T630!

Do any of you know what this is? How it can be helped? I searched the board before I posted, someone mentioned having their phone 'flashed' - what's this?

Any assistance would be VERY gratefully appreciated - it's almost making my love life suffer! Thank heavens voice calls work!

Cheers all!

I agree. Have your SIM replaced by O2.

Bizarrely, texting works perfcetly from my Orange SIM after an evening testing it out, despite having poor signal.

I've cleaned the SIM as Sony recommended, and ensured I have the correct service centre number, GSM settings, and tried the 'select another network then revert back to O2' trick. Yet still, no improvement.

Would O2 replace the SIM with one that uses the same number, credit, bolt ons, etc? Or wopuld it be a totally separate SIM? Would it be free?!

Any further help, I'll be grateful for!

I'm on my 2nd O2 card which isnt flawless now. O2 were very helpful throughout... not. Twenty emails later, they're sending me another SIM free 'within 14 days'.

You certainly get what you pay for these days! As my SIMs were free, I can only guess as to why they weren't being sold for £9.99 on the website or in stores!
