You guys may already know this, however some of you may not, but with the advent of Google's new gmail system it was only a matter of time before they made a dumbed down version for us "not fully supported" peeps. And now they have, the Gmail Basic Html:
Quote:
If you sign in to Gmail using a browser that isn't fully supported, you'll automatically be directed to a basic HTML view of our service. To make sure that you can always access your mail, we’ve developed this basic HTML view that is compatible with almost any browser.
Since your browser isn't fully supported, you might notice that some of your favorite features aren’t available in the current view, including the following:

Filter creation
Settings
Spell checker
Keyboard shortcuts
Address auto-complete

Which means that you no longer need to use Gmail wireless if you have the right phone, you can just go straight to the official site. I can't believe it works but it's pretty fantastic, realy gmail on the move, isn't that great.

The layout is also pretty good, similar to the other version, although I have noticed a little lack of functionality in that I can't seem to archive message anymore on it.

Anyway, try it out and see if it works on your phones.
Dave.

It works fine on mine, has anyone else tried it? Have you enabled cookies and javascript on opera? Also it might be something to do with the fact that I selected the basic html option first from a pc, and then tried through my phone.

@govigov: Not sure what's going wrong there but it does play up from time to time for me. Does it work with the k500?

It's fine for reading, but doing a quick check it seems you can't archive, or even send messages... not so good after all eh.
