Hi, I'm a proud owner of a T68i, but one thing disappoints me. Everybody is talking about the great battery capacity of the t68, more than 300 hours stand-by time. But my phone never lasts more than three days, with about half an hour talking time and 15 messages. I rarely use ir, never bluetooth, and it is in stand-by mode when I don't use it.
Is there anything wrong with my battery, or is Sony-Ericsson lying?

Same here! I use the phone about as much as you do, and never use bluetooth or IR. I have to charge my phone every three days or so as well.

The battery capacity specified from S-E is under optimal circumstances (perfect network signal, probably no use of the backlight etc...) It's obvious no one can enjoy the phone in this way..

I'm glad there's nothing wrong with my phone... though a little disappointed. But I guess there is no problem, I'm rarely at places without an outlet...

Mine and those t68's of people i know usually indicates 284 hrs, fully charged, but all of us have to recharge after 2 to 3 days which means your phone is normal. I'm not sure if this was discussed somewhere but you can try searching for other posts. :-D

Yeah, it looks like it's a normal issue. Shame...

I get terrible battery life in the UK, but I go to Switzerland quite a bit for work and it lasts quite a lot longer there, better signal and general network conditions.

Sony should include the Infolitheum Stamina batt technology on SE cellphones. Sony handycams and digital cams with this technology have the longest batt life.

My T68 can lasts for 5 days (on 24 hours a day) with total about 1 and half hours talk time .........its not bad compare to those crap nokia phones.........I guess its best to discharge your battery, let it run down till it turn off by itself then charge it for long hours..........it should improve the battery performance !!!

People from Semicon Philippines told me that unlike Nokia phones, our phones should not be totally discharged. Meaning, if it warns you of low battery, it is better to charge it already and not wait for it to turn off by itself.

Enrico, thats right. In the past you had to discharge the battery all the way before recharging because they had the memory efect, with lithium batteries you don't have that problem any more.

Warning!!! DO NOT DISCHARGE LITHIUM BASED BATTERIES! Unlike NiCd or NiMH batteries, which need to be discharged... Lithium based batteries actually get damaged when discharged.

Once the phone goes to low-batt mode (red light flashes), you may charge the phone... do not wait for the battery to run down, or die completely. This damages the lithium cells and shortens the battery's over-all life...capacity stay the same, but # of recharge cycles gets reduced.

Our phones are not faulty or anything.... its trying to sell more units. Can't blame them too much... they need profits to survive. I just put the phone on the charger every other night when I go to sleep no matter how much battery life is available.
