I have a film in divx format, but id rather watch it on my tv, using my dvd player, how can i put the film onto a cd? whats good software to use?

If you have tv-out on your computer you can buy a scart-cable and watch the movie on tv through the computer..

As far as I know you can not change formats,

your have to convert it first to mpeg format then burn it using Nero...get some help from http://www.vcdhelp.com

Looks like it will take a long time though, and you need 4 or 5 programs to do it.

some new dvd players will now support DivX but its difficult to find them but if u do have just burning on to a cd as a normal data file should work if not it takes a load of messing about and time to do it.It doesn't always work either i found.

nah the other guy was rite, just encode it 2 mpeg (takes bout 4/5 hrs) then burn it using nero which takes bout 8mins per disc (by in large ull find most films take up 2 discs

wat OS u runnin cos these times r quoted on XP whereas wen i used 2 run it on 2000SE it was a bit slower dunno why though iz not an OS boff !

so yeh encode n burn usaing nero

n amke sure ya dvd player can play vcd's cos ud b surprised how many dont !

If you have NERO Version 5, use the VCD option and it will usually (depending on your DivX file and version) convert it for you. You can then watch the VCD on your DVD player.

there's this software called vcdcutter, best one i know

converts a lot of formats to other formats, plus it lets you cut movies, paste movies, clips, all that

pretty good piece of software, chinese made

Thanx for the help that site that mhorton sed about was interesting and ill give it a go when i get home, i didnt know it would take so long to convert it though. I let u know how i get on.
