Some tips for caller id pics |

The T68 uses a popup window for caller ID. Even though the display is 101 x 80 pixels, only the center portion of an image is shown. To make sure your caller id picture displays like you want it, you should make it the same size of the popup window which is 93 x 62 pixels.
Tip number two: We have (or should be using) the .act file that converts an image to an indexed color .gif file. The color table only utilizes the colors that the T68 is able to display. What i've discovered is that you should resize the image BEFORE loading the color table. I've included two examples to illustrate the point.
Resizing first (good)
loading color table first (bad)
The image editing steps that work best for me are:
1. Crop image area
2. Resize to either 93 x 62 for caller id or 101 x 80 for full screen
3. Adjust contrast, brightness, saturation
4. last: load color table to convert to 256 colors
Hope this helps you!

Yeah, I believe this is the general procedure. However, not all pictures come out best using this, and require a little deviation. Especially when you're downgrading resolution from millions to just 256. Trial and error is still my formula though. |

Thanks for the tip. However, the coverting to 256 colors should always be the last thing to do - that is, after the contrast and color saturation has been changed. Therefore, interchange points 3 and 4 in the proposed schema.

Nope! This picture is retrofitted to the display! This is just for advertising!
If you see a photograph of a huge delicious looking ice cream... it's usually shaving foam! |

But if the picture is an official one from SE, it is a bit misleading then |

Menu, 4.Fun & Games, 2.My pictures, choose picture then press menu button(above number 1 button)
3.Add to contact and assign the photo to a contact in your address book.

Ive followed your directions but something seems to be different. #2 under Fun&Games is not My Pictures but Backgound. Im using a T68m not T68i, im not sure if this has something to do with it or not. I looked thru the menus to try and find what you described but the closest thing I could find was under Pictures, My Pictures. But all those images were small black and white images that looked pretty cheesy. Help.... |

You need to have the T68i to use Picture Caller ID. |
