Don't mislead others.

6230i has all:
Edge
MMC slot (which is cheaper than MSD)
MP3/AAC/MP4 player (no so-called "Walkman" goodwill in price, thanks)
1.3 megapixel camera (I don't care that 700K pixels)
262K Screen (it is just a game of digit)
Bluetooth (6230i has it)

I know what i would be choosing... seriously 6230i with less price
Or 6680 if I have to pay such high price - it's a smartphone

Even with my current 6630 i hardly never use GPRS, EDGE and WCDMA, not because it fast... i just use it, i need it, but thats me..

I know for sure that i will be listening to music and utilising bluetooth... YES! I use my Bluetooth headset to listen to MP3 sometimes with my 6630, cool la la

Anyway I used mobile phone to listen to MP3 since last year with 6230, with MMC slot.

Seriously. Nothing new, nothing innovative.
Same old 6230 only souped up.

Yep, pretty similar upgrade than SE did with K700i -> K750i, where basicly only new things are 2MP camera and memory card. Nothing innovative there either.

6230i will be available in Q1/Q2 timeframe. I don't know where did you get that Q3. So, couple of month earlier than K750i.

Info is available on both NOKIA and SE website... i think the specs speak for themselves.

K750i just an upgrade of a K700i, your kidding aren't you....

I guess you have to ask yourself... what would you use more often...

NOKIA 6230

Edge
and that small screen (Res is good but on 65k)

or

SE W800i

Memory Stick Duo Pro
Walkman...
2.0 Meg Cam
262K Screen
Bluetooth...

I know what i would be choosing... seriously the W800i
is leaps and bound ahead of the Nokia releases.

Even with my current K700i i hardly ever use GPRS, not because it slow... i just don't use it, but thats me..

I know for sure that i will be listening to music and utilising bluetooth...

God i love these new releases!

Ok, so you have a phone for show-off, not for its actual use. Fair enough. But then I fail to see any valid argument justifying "W800i
is leaps and bound ahead of the Nokia releases". But nevermind.

releases have disappointed me lately. They had very good releases with T610/T630/K700 but now... Seems their inspiration is fading. Design-wise, sorry to say their new ones are déjà-vu and/or also really ugly (J300). Untasteful.
While Nokia was questioned for weird looks, at least they have improved a lot, not always succeeding though. seems now a bit lost and not having much inspiration, but are just doing the same looking things over and over again. They were fresh looking last year, but now, ok, boring. They've lost that thing that made them spicy.

Btw, 6230i does have bluetooth. MP3 player (old thing), but it's new to users. Waw effect?! As to the radio in phones, if that's not copying Nokia what is it?
Ah, RDS is good though!
Visual Radio is better though, but not supported everywhere (1st one is in finland, with Kiss FM)

As to the walkman branding -it's NOTHING else but a branding- I think it's pretty ridiculous. Nevermind that.

All in all, seems the W800 outweighs 6230i in only:
262k screen vs 65k. Mmm. Check the 6230i screen. It's big (bigger than 6230, at least that's the impression I have when using it), very bright and very good looking.
2Mpix camera vs 1.3Mpix. But then the lack of EDGE, albeit multislot in uplink makes sending of 2Mpix pics a bit lengthy.

Anyway, arguing is pointless.
I know what I would go for: 6230i. It looks good, classy and has a very impressive feature set (I do believe it is the best feature set in a small candybar phone).

As to the other Nokia releases:
6030: ugly in my opinion. Looks like some new ...
6021: nothing new, though it looks good. 6020 looks, without a camera.

How come you can post something like this?

================
NOKIA 6230

Edge
and that small screen (Res is good but on 65k)

or

SE W800i

Memory Stick Duo Pro
Walkman...
2.0 Meg Cam
262K Screen
Bluetooth...
================

Are you kidding?
I can do it in the same way:
You all please think clearly you want:

Nokia 6230i
Cheaper price
EDGE
MMC which is much cheaper than MSD
208x208 pixels
Bluetooth
1.3 megapixel camera which saves battery power probably
MP3/AAC/MP4 player (no need to give it a name at all)

Sony Ericsson W800
Higher price
MSD which is more expensive than MMC
262K pixels which eat more battery power probably
2.0 megapixel

I think that many people buy a phone just for show off especially for K700 and S700. They mostly use their phone for voice and messaging only. You can see that, a "user" posted that he very few using GPRS. See? MP3 player? How many songs can he saved to his K700? Camera? No kidding please, get a 7610 at the same time when K700 released.

They only used "Sexy" to be reason to get a phone. However, I prefer 7610 which has much more artistic and creative, innovative design.

See T610, SE use similar concepts of 8310 and 2100.
See also K750 and W800,
how come it is so similar to Motorola E398 in looking?
Compare yourself.

@ Super G
I guess design is very subjective thing.
My impression from SE products last year wasn't so good as it is with their new phones (especially W800, I've never been impressed more by a phone picture).
And isn't 6030 looking very familiar (similar to another brands line)?

Super G,

I value your opinion, again you are entiled to like everyone else...

When these phones are released to the market, then we can begin to debate what is good and what isn't.

Again.... I feel SE have a huge hit with there latest releases K750i, W800i, K600i etc, etc

Just one thing to keep in mind with the recent GSM awards, didn't even see a mention of Nokia.

Yes they really look ugly and boring, especially 6030.
However new SEs are even uglier and more boring.

K750 = E398 copy-cat? Oh no.

Yes W800 is really impressive in photo. I am really impressed how SE can change the colours of K750 a little bit and add a brand name "Walkman" then to be a "Music phone". Really "Music".

iam123456mail, If I wanted to pull all the specs out from there relevant websites, i would of, but I didn't... okay!

If you wanna assume that i was putting Nokia down.. well think what you want. okay! Both Se and Nokia released new products today... SE by far stood out...

All of Nokia releases look the same...

Speaking on your so called fashion phones.... k700i and S700i, didn't see u mention of the Motorola V3

Or isn't that a fashion phone?

Unbelievable

I have never said K700/S700/V3 are fashion phone. I don't think they are.

Most people here will just look at the brand name and that's it. SE products are all great, in their own opinion.

I'd rather get a 6680 if I have to pay the same price for Z800/K750. Anyway I use my phone to USE but not for showing off.

And sorry to tell you that, I think all SE releases look the same. Starting from T610, then T630, K700, now K750, K300, J200, all have the same shape in my opinion. Boring.

Anyway please note that phones Nokia announced today are mid-range product.

Have you played with W800 yet? I haven't, but sure as h*ll looking forward to it when it's released.

I don't for once believe SE released the W800i as a phone with a memory stick. I for one believe it's very inovative and it will sell like hotcakes...

I look forward to reading various forums indepth reviews with these new handsets... then i will welcome your opinion...
