T9 edit oddity |

Sometimes, we need to go back and edit a word using T9. To do so on the T68, we place the cursor next to the word and press "0" and then move the joystick up or down to cycle through the word choices.
Here's the oddity: Sometimes, the cursor must be placed IN FRONT of the word to be edited, and sometimes, the cursor must be placed BEHIND the word.
I can't tell you how many times I've pressed "0" to edit the word and then the wrong word becomes underlined.
Does this happen to others? Have any of you upgraded from R1B to R1C and had this problem go away? |

I have never seen this on my phone. I allways stand at the end of the word and pres 0. Works perfectly. I have had R1B, R1C and now R2A013. |

I use R2A and what I can see is if you have approved your word(u have pressed button 1) and you want to change the word u place the cursor before the word and press '0'. If you haven't approved the word you use the joystick to change it to any other alternative. So it's changes the word that is closesed to the cursor. |

My condition still exists. It seems like when moving BACKWARD through the words with the joystick to place it next to the word to be edited requires that the cursor be placed in front of the word.
However, if the cursor is being moved FORWARD, it ends up at the end of the word to be edited.
Try typing "one two three four five six" in an sms and then move the cursor backwards (pressing joystick-left only) to edit the word "two". You'll notice that the only way to edit "two" is to place the cursor between one and two. However, if you move it all the way backwards and then move forwards to edit "two", you must place the cursor at the end of "two" to edit it.
I don't think I'm the only one here who has this problem? Anyone?! |

You are right. A revised rule for how the 0 selection works is to say that the word closest to the cursor will get selected when you press 0. If you are closer to "two" than "Three" "two" will be selected. It has nothing to do with if you are at the beginning or the end of the word. |
