Duo pro 128mb????
Can anyone tell me what the difference between the standard 128mb duo pro and the MAGIC GATE version????

Sony Magic Gate has their proprietory excryption on it. Their laptops used to require it if you wanted to put music on it.
What you should be really looking at is the Memory Stick Pro Duo, which are much faster than then older sticks. (not in the phone, only when using them with a computer.) |

its for my Z1010 and ive heard that it doesnt take the 256mb or 512mb sticks so just want to know if i should get a Magic Gate version or not???

Stick with the duo's. The Z1010 does not support Duo Pro sadly according to the website.
