hi i am trying to use ir on my f500i and it will not let me send a picture to a samung e300 and it wouldnt work with a nokia either. i can recieve business cards off a nokia but it says connection failed when i send files to a samsung or nokia. not sure about others. can anyone help?

The biggest problem is your friends crappy phones, a majority of all Samsungs and quite a lot of Nokias only supports buisnesscards to be sent via ir they dont support pictures and ringtones to be sent that way, so the problem most likely is not your fantastic f500!
But maybe there is a limitation in your Vodafone firmware that stops you from sending ringtones and pictures, anybody know?

i could send a picture to a t68i and it worked fine. ive tried a nokia 6100 aswell and it dont work. i cant even send anything off the e300 because theres nothing to send. i cant send anything through ir.

I am glad to here that you could send to the t68 that means that voda hasen't alterd that bit. Nokia 6100 does only support buisnesscard via ir no pictures, no polys. I have many friends with the good looking but crappy working Samsung E700 and that doesn't support "full" ir so i bet the E300 doesn't either..
Anyhow the problem isn't your fone, that is good!

No one i know has an se so i wont be able to use my ir.never mind atleast its not my phone. Y have ir if you cant use it lol.

The latest Nokias use full "ir" and most Siemens and i bet many other manufactures do, so dont be sad, sooner or later you get a chance to use it!
