Lets you dial international numbers using your mobiles free minutes. I called Vodafone to ask if I could use my free mins by dialling this number and they said I could as its a normal mobile number - I never told them what the number does
I have now got my bill and have been charged £48 for calls to this number!!!!!!! Does someone know whats going on here?
Thanks |

Its classed as a 'private' number. I'm exactly sure what it is, but its different to a standard mobile number and often isn't included in your free minutes.
However, if Vodaphone told you different its time to complain, then remember not to call that number again!

Yeh have formally taken this up with Vodafone and will have to go to offcom if they don't respond.
I aint gonna be trying that number again!

These numbers are considered as dialthrough numbers and you can only call from a very limited number of Cross Network Plans on some networks.
Here is the full list of network which provide these number in their INCLUSIVE MINUTES bundles. http://www.akdial.com/always-[....]fore-making-any-calls-177.html
Best way is to always dial a small call and check your bill before making any big call.

Hi Guys,
I did some research on this topic and found the following.
The access number from ur mobile is
****07744 97 4175****
Conditions: You must have Cross-Network Free Minutes and have a monthly-pay contract with one of the following mobile networks: O2, Orange. (Sorry, 3 and T-Mobile are not included.). When the free minutes are used up, you will be charged by your service provider at normal cross-network rates. Pay As You Go customers will be charged at normal rates.
Instructions for use
1) Phone your mobile operator to confirm that 07744 97 4175 can be used for your free, cross-network minutes. Here are the numbers you can use:
O2 - 0870 241 02 02
Orange – 150 from your mobile or 07973 100 150 from a landline
2) 07744 97 4175 from your mobile phone. On hearing a welcom message, dial your destination number. Then you will be connected to the destination. Never press "Call" button again otherwise you risk being charged for international calls by your mobile phone company! |

It does also say that vodafone isn't supported!
------------------------------------
3" and Singlepoint Vodafone contracts unfortunately do not allow this number within free minutes at present, although you should again check to be sure as your contract might allow it. |

Here's the one I use. I'm on O2 with 400 xnet. Been using them for months. Also this one has more destinations you can call than the 2 mentioned above
http://www.yourcallworld.com/
Again O2 and Orange only. It surprises me why these 2 networks allow the number as part of your xnet mins and the rest don't. Surely they know what the number is for?

Briing.com is one of the first and original 07744 providers.
With our unique 07744 email alert list you can stay on top of changes, and will be emailed as soon as we discover changes in who is charging.! So join the largest alerting list on 07744 numbers
It is easy to make Free international calls, and there are many providers, however there is a difference in how many destinations they offer.
Instructions:
1. Dial 07744 700 003
2. enter your international destination starting with 00
3. Finish with #
At Long Last, the final Results for the survey.
Orange Contract = Covered in x-network Inclusive Minutes.
O2 Contract = Covered in x-network Inclusive Minutes
Virgin Contract = Covered in x-network Inclusive Minutes
O2 PAYG = covered in bolt on minutes - when you top up £10 you get 100 incl minutes! use the treat and you can end up with 120 mins free per week.
T-mobile Contract = not included in any call allowance (30p per minute)
3 Contract = not included in any call allowance (25p per minute)
Vodafone Paygo = you get 60 minutes call to our number for £1.20 pounds using STOP the Clock!.
Which is damn cheap
Fresh, Tesco, Easy = 15p/minute
Talk, Talk, Talk, M&S = 15p/minute
We also found:
You can add the 07744 700 003 to your "favorite numbers on Tesco mobile and hence go as low as 10p/min on tesco mobile. This can be done on other services giving you up to 50% extra credit on Briing.com
BT = cost 26.05 peak, 18.74 off peak and 8.81 weekend.
T-Mobile actually stated for monthly contract it was Free/ then 25p after. So check.
Vodafone cusotmer Service said "free" if not 35p/minute
And Orange Said, it cost 42p peak, 25p off peak, and 12p weekend. and they are FREE!
Hence the confusion.
The Problem with Orange is that on 80% of their Cross network off peak
minutes it is not included.
So if you call vodafone, and they say its free, then you can always ask for a refund afterwards.! And they are obliged to pay, ask for the name of the person you speak to.
The following Operators will not reply to emails on this topic.
T-Mobile
Vodafone
Talk Talk
M&S mobile
The rest will, so that's documented.
Take care and keep dialing.
