Ongoing problems with Widcomm and XP |

Hi,
Been a while since i've been in ESATO. On my laptop I had widcomm drivers installed for my BT dongle but it would consistently crash with a Virtual C++ runtime error.
I now have a brand new PC and am still getting the same problems. If its any help when i shutdown I get a BT Stack Server not responding message. I'm not sure if that is the Widcomm Stack or the MS stack. Am i still getting conflicts?
Trust me I have scoured Google and Esato for anyone who has also experienced this, sorry for new topic.
Anybody else had a smiliar problem? Assistance greatly appreciated...
Thanks
HP

I had this same problem & I ended up uninstalling the Widcomm drivers completely and letting XP handle my bluetooth dongle. Its a bit different and doesn't give you all the nice bits that the Widcomm drivers did but it works.
All those who believe in telekenesis, please raise my hand... What would you rather bee or a wasp? |

Hi guys,
Here is what I did to install Widcomm drivers:
- rename/delete all file bth*.* from %windir%\inf
- disable Bluetooth Service Support
- install Widcomm drivers
- restart laptop
And all works perfectly. |
