You can use the CSS25 as a sync station but it can not be used for the online update service.
I will look forward to receiving my pint soon.

I had the same experience, I am writing about it at another place at Software section....
the joke is, that you will probably have in the phone only English language now...after upgdrade....I had the same, then I did Master Reset and it came with full language offer again....

I have an unbranded/unlocked S700i (I bought it SIM free from carphone warehouse)

It had the R3B Firmware....

I had my old DSS-20 from my P800...

Update seemed to work fine, until after 100%, at which I got an error message, sayign update failed, take the battery out, and re-insert, and check if phone switches on.

did so, and phone did switch on, and a quick check of software says that Firmware R3K is installed and everything seems to be working?

Soo.. what is going on?

I have noticed other people had similar experiences, where it would say failed, but the phone is indeed updated.

That's not true at all. I use my P800 sync station all the time for updates. Later P800 models were supplied with the DSS-20.

Ok, in reply to my earlier post.

Yes, the flash did fail(and the firmware was still updated), and somethign else very strange happend, the phoen would refuse to access anythign via cable anymore, FMA, or anything else. I tried on two different computers, in case there was a config change on the computer that did the flash.

So I retried the update again, but this time i did the following:
- fully restarted the computer
- fully restarted the phone (including taking battery out, and reinserting)
- removed the memorystick
- I did NOT connect the power adapter to the DSS-20 (you can connect the SE power adapter to the DSS-20/DSS25 to charge the phone whilst synch, which i did the first time round). I think this may have been the most significant change.

This time round, the update was successfull, and the phoen automatically restarted, and the Cable connectivity was back!

Love the speed of the new firmware, especially the new search method.

The only "feature" i think is missing, is the lack of being able to Format/Blank a memory stick

Another "feature" in the new firmware is the ability to recognise MP4 music (AAC) stored with the .mp4 extension (previous firmware only recognised the .m4a extension). MP4 is sooooo much better than MP3 (size versus Quality)

A small change I have noticed with new firmware, is, when reading a new text message, and opening the phone to reply, the left softkey used to change to CALL. It no longer does this, but stays as REPLY.

Pleased with the upgrade.

Java support is also alot better now.

I have alot of Nokia S40 games on my phone and they used to crash out alot (freeze and phone would stop responding).

Since the update, this is yet to happen (touch). So well done on that.

All we need now is MSDP support, full screen video and that "Send" button once taken a picture to allow you to send by bluetooth.

Sorted.

I thought the soft key only said call if a number in the text of the sms was highlighted.

I'm using the DSS-25 sync station and have updated the drivers etc but I get an error log every time I try to update
EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION occurred at PC=0xF451A7E

The errors seem to revolve around
at homeflash.msconnector.io.c.a(Unknown Source) etc.

Can anyone help?
