After a quick search I see I'm not alone in struggling with getting the drivers to work for the DCU-11 that I bought on eBay.

The CD that came with it has just got the burnt SE drivers, which don't work. What I'm wondering is if anyone has the correct CD for this cable or knows where else I can find the drivers. The cables are obviously cheap knock-offs from China, have traced it to a website, but it had been sold to a search engine.
Since this "brand" jk electronics seems to make up about 60% of the DCU-11 cables available on eBay I wondered if anyone else had managed to get theirs to work? Or could email me/give me a link to a working driver?

Here is an example of the JK DCU-11's on eBay:

Thanks in advance.

You're not mentioning what phone you want to use the cable up towards? There is different dricvers for different phones.
Have a look here. It's a list of the drivers avalable for the DCU-11.
See if any of those drivers are for your phone.

Thanks

I have a T630 and my bf has a P910 that he wants to use it with. But since I don't have the phone attatched when trying to get the cable drivers to work I hadn't thought the phone would make the difference.

I'll try installing with the phone attached later.

Thanks.

another problem with the DCU-11 installer disc is that it doesn't come with the File Manager 2.5.9.0. We have to download it from the Sony Ericsson website. Its so troublesome.

why can't they just include it so we could make full use of the disc?

I had a problem loading the driver under W2K. The drivers supplied with the cable are wrong. Mine kept trying to load the wrong driver and create a USB port (the cable is a serial device). My final solution was:

1. Remove all traces of previously loaded drivers for DCU-11, uninstall & also the system seems to make a copy of any driver it loads (faulty or not) and then use that even when you point it to a new one. On my PC this was c:\winnt\inf\oem7.inf. There may be a quicker way of finding it but I searched by date and then manually viewed files to locate correct one & then removed.

2. Copy driver from CD on PC, rename DCUbus.inf to DCUbus.xxx

3. Edit DCUw2k.inf with the following change: (e.g. remove &MI_00&OS_NT)

;------------------------------------------------------------------
; Device-by-device entries
;------------------------------------------------------------------
[SLAB]
;%SLAB.Comm.Desc% = SLAB.Install, USB\VID_10A6&PID_AA26&MI_00&OS_NT
%SLAB.Comm.Desc% = SLAB.Install, USB\VID_10A6&PID_AA26

4. Prob worth a re-boot, then plug it back in & try re-installing driver pointing to PC location

did you ever get this to work? I'm having the same issue here with a DCU-11 USB cable.

The fix I showed above worked OK with my cable. The supplied drivers worked on WinME but I had to use the above to get it to work on Win2000.

The cable I have has KQ-U8A & WT048000317 on it and the CD was produced by Coach using drivers originally by Susteen but they look reworked and bodged to me.

The biggest issue was locating and removing the copy of the faulty driver on the system. Make sure you do this and point the system at the modified driver on hard drive and not at the original CD. The original driver also incorrectly creates a USB device which may need to be removed.

I have a problem similar to the one you people wrote about, only that my phone is a SE K508i.

I bought a DCU-11 for USB with Coach Mobile Communications AB drivers from Susteen Inc.

I tried the SonyEricsson.com driver - it worked like dead.

The FAQ section for this cable has almost no practical use. I have a WindowsXP Pro working on a Gigabyte GA7VRX motherboard. It features 2 USB ports, both 1.1 and 2.0. Or this is what Gigabyte writes on-line.

I also tried FMA (float's Mobile Agent) but it simply won't run. I get an error message: "FMA encountered some problems..." "Send report/ Dont send report"...

What can I do now to make the thing work?

Please, can anyone help me?

I just got my DCU-11 data cable and tried it with 3 different phones,
K500i and T630 worked great with the drivers in the CD but the 3rd. one (T226)did not, it does detect it but that's it, it won't let me check it's content or anything. I'm gonna try downloading the latest software and see if it works.

For T2xx and T3xx phones, you have to set the COM port speed to 9600.
