Im assuming everyone knows about the clock that comes on when you leave your phone for a few minutes on the T68i. Is there anyway of switching it off? if not why not?! whats the point of having a screen saver if its only shown for 30 seconds or so!?

This is an age old gripe of many Esato users.

You go to all that trouble of getting a colour phone and the standby graphic(clock) is in black and white.

Any news anyone?

Once and for all, the clock can not be disabled, the T68 won't even last for one day in standby if the color screen is on and lit all the time. I think that the clock is quite practical, you don't have to wear a watch then

The fact that it won't last a day is largely irrelevant when, a) I have a desktop stand with charger, b) I have a car kit with charger and c) at home I have... you guessed it... a charger!

I would also like to be able to disable the clock under these circumstances. As I have a watch, a clock on the wall and a clock on my PC I do not really need another one.

If I was going out and wanted the phone to last longer I would turn the clock back on. All I am getting at is that it would be nice to have the choice.

That's the only thing that narks me about the phone as well because having screensavers on the phone is pointless.

The screensaver is still useful --- many people notice it the short time it is on. But that doesn't mean there is no better thing than the clock!

What about:

"1 missed call"

"New message"

A background image of your choice that looks good even with the LEDs off (its the LEDs that is burning most of the battery power).

Even an animation that can be played with the LEDs off (this would increase power consumption heavily, though)

one way to prolong your screensaver is to download or create long animated gif files i.e. loop it more times but of course it will take bigger memory space

I dont think it has anything to do with file size. It is 32 frames, I think. So what you need to do is increase the delay, i.e how long each frame is displayed for.
