For $52.97 i get 3000 ANYTIME minutes, 350 sms, and 1 meg Gprs. I can talk and wap all i want whenever i want with voicestream. I haven't seen anything comparable to that with cingular! My point is that good carrier's plans work better for some people. It is foolish to make a statement like \"my carrier is SO much better than yours\". There are many factors.

I have VS and they activated my SIM card without phone but not without the 1 yr contract. I also get 600 anytime minutes for $39.99 which is a lot more than the 350 that cingular gives. Maybe its a matter of personal preferrence but I would much rather have more anytime minutes than have to wait till 9pm to make calls with unlimited night time minutes. What's the point of having unlimited minutes if you cant use them when you need to make an important call? Also Voicestream has much better GSM coverage than Cingular. GPRS and WAP is much cheaper on VS ($2.99).
And also... Cingular phones are shitty old bricks that no one else in the world uses. The non-GSM ones I mean.

Having said all that.. I DO agree that VS is full of shit. I havent seen their coverage area grow even a bit since the 2yrs that I've been with them.

They still havent returned the $250 deposit that they took from me while signing. Its been almost a year now and I have given up calling their customer support.

I got F U C K E D with roaming charges when I took my phone to Toronto this May. The bill came up to around $280 for that month.

GPRS is not really the 56K equivalent speed that we are supposed to get. Its more like 14.4K (here in Indiana).

Only thing going for me is the number of ppl who stop to check out my T68i and ask who my provider is. Reluctantly I tell them its VS.

Ping Pongsm 50 Incoming Text Messages, AOL Instant Messengersm Service, VoiceMail with Message Alert, Built-In Paging, Caller ID,Conference Calling, Call Forwarding, Call Waiting and Call Hold, Customer Care, Detailed Billing, Emergency Calls,Access to Directory Assistance ---> these services are all included in Voicestream's plans, it's free and you're not charged for it. it just takes it from your free minutes.

Cingular $2.99 for 100 txt msgs.
Voicestream $2.99 500 txt msgs or 1mb of Istream data

Cingular $69.99 1000 minutes for 2yr contract
Voicestream $39.99 1000 minutes for 1yr contract.

need i say more?
