ok ive read most of this thread and now my eyes are going funny so i thought id just make a new post... sorry if this has been asked b4..
ive got the latest software version and have paired my p800 with the msi bluetooth key. i can send files to and from the p800 and browse da net with opera via my pc connection.....
however, everytime i enable bluetooth on my p800 i have to manually enable the serial port on my computer so that the device can connect. im doing this by going to
My Bluetooth Places\Entire Bluetooth Neighborhood\ right click on my paired fone and then selecting "connect bluetooth serial port"
is there anyway of getting this to happen automatically, ideally i want to enable bluetooth on my p800 and have the pc setup the serial port for internet access as soon as this is done.... |

if i am not mistaken, you have to identify which com port in your local services (bluetooth configuration) would automatically start-up. just double-click the "bluetooth serial port" under local services tab in your bluetooth configuration window. put a check on the start-up checkbox, and identify which com port to use.

GOwin, thanks for the advice but ive already done that for the default serial port (com 8 )....i can send and receive stuff as soon as the p800 bluetooth is activated.....
But, I am using the "quick connect" function to maintain a continuous connection with my p800 over the serial port (com 7 - cant select com 8 ), this is so that i can use opera (with my pc Internet connection) without deleting the GPRS settings on my p800 as some peeple advised and use the SE software at the same time...
For some reason the "startup automatically" option is disabled for com 7...
So, sending pics and stuff aint a problem... but to use opera and the SE software i have to "quick connect" the serial port (com 7) to maintain the connection between the p800 and my PC.
Am i going about this the wrong way?

cool With the latest MSI software you are able to send files from pc to t68i in explorer Right-click on a files and copy to -> bluetooth device. Works great! And also sending from t68 to pc works easily I'm a happy man now!
But i have one problem: when I try to send a picture using mobilet to my phone, my phone just powers off and I need to remove the battery before i can turn it on again :S Do more people have trhis problem?? |

the checkbox is disabled? hmm. ... maybe, the connection is active. try to disconnect BT connections first.

@gowin
So, in other words, with the "startup automatically" option checked, the PC initiates a serial port connection automatically when the phone comes within range of the PC/dongle?

nope. startup automatically means that the bluetooth software will accept/initiate service requests automatically. those listed as manual startup would have to be manually enabled in My Bluetooth Places -> View My Bluetooth Services.
not sure whether i'm accurate or not, but that's what i think it is |

Thanks GOwin for refering me to this thread.
i currently have a problem.
if i were to leave the dongle connected to my usb port and i boot up my win2k. my pc will freeze somewhere at the login screen. if i were not to connect the dongle and startup, it works just fine. anyone has any idea?
the reason i wish to leave it connected to my usb is because the usb port is right behind and its difficult for me to plaug in and out. thanks! |

@lars
i also use w2k (sp3) and sometimes i just leave the adapter in the computer when i boot up. no problem.
i use the widcomm software v 1.2.2.16 instead of the one from msi. check your event log to find out what's causing the problem
