The ">" & "<" indicates the you should move your joystick to the right or left and the * simply means pushing the * on the keyboard. This sequence must be done in the "main" windows, i.e. when you see you background image if you have one.

I like the method for checking the SW version - does anyone know where to find details of later versions ? Couldn't find anything on the sonyericsson site. |

Latest version is R1C although my handset has R1B. Don't know what the newer version has, maybe small bug fixes. |

Where can you get the upgrade from then? Shop where you bought the phone? Or Ericsson?

To find a Ericsson service center near you:
1. Navigate to http://www.sonyericssonmobile.com/
2. Choose country
3. Click on the "Support" link
4. Click on the "Dealer Locator/Service center" link
Statement taken from the SonyEricsson website:
"Just walk in to any mobile phone store that carries a Service Point sign, and you'll find a dedicated Ericsson specialist, ready to answer any questions or queries you may have. They are able to give you on the spot service and upgrades of your Ericsson mobile phone. It's all part of the Ericsson Total Service, which is committed to making sure you get the best from your Ericsson products."

a little faster, but I found the images to be a little clearer than before. According to the guy i did it though, Ericsson has software updates almost on a daliy basis and full upgrades every few weeks. |

Just spoken to sonyericsson and apparently the upgrade from R1B to R1C is essential if you want to use Bluetooth. |
