I am very new to this so please forgive me if this is a stupid question
I have just bought a sony k500i and I was told to buy a data cable to download ringtones and games ect.
I was also told that games for the k700i would work on the k500i.
I have tried to put some games onto my phone and some have worked without any problem, others do work but the game seems too "big" for the screen.
What I mean is that a picture comes up on the screen but you can see that some is mussing, then if I go into the menu there are some options that are not visable at the bottom of the screen (if that makes sense!)
What am I doing wrong? is the phone faulty or do I need a firmware upgrade to make some games work?

I have the same trouble.if you go into the games menu.go to a game and press more then you can go to the menu screen and you can change the size.thats what i do

Nothin wrong with phone and you are not doin anything wrong as well. K7 games run at 176x220 res so wont fit in your 128x160 screen, try the games meant fot t610. Some k7 games however are playable coz by coincidence the part of the screen in which all the action is takin place is the part that your phone displays...i know speed chaser 3d is one such game  |

The K700 screen has a higher resolution (higher number of pixels) & so a game made for K7 resolution has too many pixels to fit across the K5 screen basically, hence why u miss some.
You should be able to alter the display setup for each game. In the game list press 'More' then 'Screen' (at least thats how the K7 works, I assume the K5 also has this menu

The screen size option is to make lower res games fit ex. s40 128x128 are moved from one corner of the screen to the centre...it cant be used to make higher res games work on a low res screeen. |

It does not work every time for me but when i change the screen settings it makes the game playable

You don't "need" a datacable if your PC has infrared capabilities.....if it doesn't, you can buy infrared dongles to plug into your system, which is what I did, and it transfers everything fine.
Seems to be a spate of misinformation on this phone, I was basically lied to by the store where I bought it from......hey, you didn't get it from Phones 4 U in Preston, did you? lol |

Thanks for the info.
I have tried changing the screen size for fifa2005 but it does not seen to help.
I will take a look at the games for the t610 (I dont think fifa is on the t610 ;( )

does anyone know of any "good" games that will run on the k500i?
I was told that fifa would (But I cant get it to work) and also splinter cell.
