ROAMING ISSUES : area code 213, 323, 818

if ever you SAW AT&T wireless on your handsets last night, make no worries about the roaming charges. just give them a call and inform them about the issue.

also, be aware that you're not supposed to be charged in the first place because you're in your home calling area. if you let this pass, it's $0.69 per minute, pain in the butt isn't it?

RE: misc.

some of you may have problems regarding signaL. try the following:

hardshock - while the phone is on, remove the battery, wait for atleast 10 seconds, then put the battery back and turn on your phone.

#1 - press #1 then caLL. this method is used for requesting signaL.

#611 - if everything fails, inform CinguLar. #611 is a free caLL and will direct you to cingular representatives in your area.

1-866-cingula[r] - costumer service for cingular users. [ doesn't assure customers that they are going to talk to CS in their HOME AREA]

FOR PREPAID USERS

#611 - costumer service

*777# - balance inquiry

#777 - to add minutes

Plan includes:
Nationwide Long Distance

International Dialing*

Caller ID

Call Waiting

Call Hold**

Call Forwarding**

Conference Calling**

Voice Mail

Text Messaging (receive messages at no charge, send messages for 5¢ per message)

Mobile to Mobile Calling at 10¢ per minute

RE: POP3 on t68i | t68m

cingular doesnt currently support the pop3 access from t68s. it will be soon coz t68m was released by cingular a couple of weeks ago. i apologize for CS reps that doesnt seem to be knowledgable when it comes to t68s, some havent even seen them.

t68s used on cingular are likely to display 'SOS CALLS ONLY' during this upgrade season instead of 'NO NETWORK'. no need to worry.

#611+send would easily fix this problem.

What?

Works just fine here, even before Cingular got their cheap worthless T68's that really need to be upgraded badly. Actually, I hate how people (From Cingular) compare my T68i to there T68 junkyard refurbished trash from Europe that crashes constantly.

As for plans and rates, if Cingular keeps changing them like this constantly, pretty soon we'll end up with a 5-minute plan with 10 minutes night and weekends for $49.99 a month. Their rates are beginning to be ridiculously high. Cingular use to have great rates before, but not anymore.

@delta , what area code are you from? if you're close to the 818 area, AT&T is doing some MAD testin on their towers. if cingular receives the signaL, u'll roam on it. if it's set to use only one network [ie, CINGULAR] it will display SOS calls only specially if the other carrier's signaL is stronger. it used to display ' no network ' but since there are upgrades being done right now, 'sos calls only' is likely to be displayed.

this is not guaranteed, i just wanna teLL people that are currently experiencing this problem not to get worried. again, signal request will solve this issue [#1+send]

cingular now supports large data transfers on dial - up. no need to waste them $$$ on gprs.

I just drove from San Francisco to San Diego and back, and I definitely got the "SOS Calls Only" message a few times. Usually, this was fixed by turning off the phone and turning it back on again (I didn't know about 1-send).

#1 + send = signal request.

you're gettin 'SOS CALLS only' because you're roaming on AT&T and as of today, cingular still does not have a roaming agreement with at&t. hardshocking is not really advisable unless u need it.

hardshocking = while the phone is on, remove the battery, wait for 10 seconds then put it back.

on/off at all times definitely waste ur battery.

there's a rumor that cingular MIGHT start charging incoming SMS starting september 15, 2002.

some people from cingular said that SMS will stay as is. prior to september 15, all those postpaid plans with SMS will continue to receive free incoming sms.

i hope this is true.

people with unlimited sms, u know how lucky u are. LOL

I'm switching to T-Mobile. These rates are a hell of a lot better than Cingulars.

Cingular wouldn't even try to match T-Mobiles rates for me, so they can go to hell

maybe you're asking for too much. oh well, with the millions of costumers, you're definitely not a loss. you're just a gain for voicestream. =]
