Help me decide what to buy! |

I have the T68m over here in the USA with ATT Wireless. I have already downloaded a background pic from here using wap, very neat indeed.
I would like to know what you suggest for me. I plan on changing out the background picture everyone once in a while, along with downloading screensavers (can i do this?) and ring tones.
So my question is, since I dont want to use WAP each time, which would be the best option for me, IR, Bluetooth or the normal data cable? I am pretty clueless as far as pricing goes, but I care about which one of those three I will be able to use to do everything I want to. |

first of all, you should upgrade to the new version of the software, which will allow you to put as many pictures/screensavers/ringtones as you want on your phone. they upgrade it for you for free. before you do this, you can't do very much--screensavers don't work with the t68m, nor do imelody ringtones (only emelody, which are not nearly as good). you can put a background pic on your phone, but only one at a time with the t68m (as opposed to as many as you have memory for on the t68i/upgraded t68m). as for cable/ir/bluetooth, you can use whichever one you prefer, they are all supported. just get whatever is cheapest/most convenient for you to use (i personally use IR). |

But doesnt upgrading to the T68i software delete some of my features? |

The T68i software upgrade only delete your user data like phonebook on the phone, calendar notes etc........you can back it up before you get the upgrade..........and I think you should get Infrad device like MA-600........I am currently using it and use it to IR background pic and others eveeryday..........and its not expensive !!! |

Alrighty then, sounds like a sweet deal. I mean i jsut got my phone so I havent put people in my phone book and all that. And if I put some numbers, I'll jsut put em on my SIM card for now.
So how would I go about updating my phone?

Heh, the search function, I know about it very well. I am a heavy poster on a lot of forums and a mod at one. I searched for some info but I came up with pages and apges of useless information.
I was hoping someone that has had it done would help me out. |

Well, I just got Sony Ericsson and the lady told me that the T68i is out in the USA. I was like um ok but I know there are no differences expect the outside cover. And she said, yes basically, but the T68i has more features. I told her since i bought my T68m yesterday I didnt think that was fair. Well, she goes, whent he upgrade is out....... I was like u have any idea when? She goes, NO! anythign else I can help you with?
GRRRRRRR this sucks guys, does anyone have any idea??? |

I think you should ask SonyEricsson again or view the site.
In Europe (i'am from Holland) you can upgrade your SE T68m.
Your other question still remains i think.
Before i got my SE T68i i had an Compaq IPAQ handheld. I know download wallpapers and themes to my pc and than put it on my IPAQ. Than i Beam it to my SE T68i.
If i would't have that option i would go for a datacable. They are not so expansive and i think they work well.
Blue Tooth is great but the prices also. I would like to have it to, but i will wait a bit longer. Infrared i can not help you with.
In a vew months the new models will be out like the SE P800. Mabye you want to wait for that.

The T68m is Ericsson, the T68i is the 1st Sony Erisccon to be released in USA. The T68(m) is discountinued with ATTWS. |

Basically the upgrade is out for T68m but not all countries will get it simultaneously. I believe US will be next. The upgrade enables you to do exactly as the T68i but somehow based on the feedback in Esato here, some of them faced some of the features ain't working properly. Always check first after the upgrade before you leave the SonyEricsson premises. If you encounter any features ain't functioning, you can always make the technical person to troubleshoot for you. |
