Can you provide a link or two pointing to those threads that say that about hotmail?

There are several threads that say you CAN'T set up hotmail, as it is not POP3. Unless things have changed, you won't be able to access it from your phone. |

But he did say that he 'read so many threads'. I was hoping he could show us those so we could at least see the threads for ourselves.

Hotmail isn't POP3 yet no, although some people may offer a kind of gateway service so that you can access it via POP3, you'll need to google around for that.
As for Gmail email, you need to go to the settings and enable POP3, and then find out what the mail server is etc and put these into the phone.

For hotmail, try pop3hot.com.
For Gmail, you need SSL/TLS encryption, which I'm guessing the T68, that you appear to have, does not support. All the settings that you need are available from Gmail. |

Are there any settings for gmail that work with the S700i? I have looked everywhere and nothing.

Afaik, only p series were successful in getting gmail to work. Hotmail has no pop access, i dont know about external sites, in gmail, go to settings and then enable pop3. You will get the pop3 settings from there. Start from that, when you are stuck, come back.
