i have just brought a v800 , want to unlock and unbrand. Is there anyone out there who knows a place in london ..where it can be done?
don't want to do it myself, not that confident in my ability...

when people say they have just unbrand a v800 , does that mean all vodafone stuff in the phone goes? and in its place are the SE icons ? Are the icons like the k700 /s700 ?
the reason i ask this question, is that i haven't seen anyone post a pic of a unbranded v800 on the post.. not that i'm not trusting you guys out there...
but surely , the software to unbrand a branded fone must come from a geneic v800.. which to my knowledge isn't availble... am i wrong? |

for S700i and K700i, the debrand / unbrand icon look like that..

however, for the V800, I attached the picture which I debranded it a week ago.. however, a long story to tell before u decide to debrand it or not..

I think at the moment, all the V800 or V802SE in the WORLD are branded with vodafone, so all the flash files we got supposed are all branded with vodafone...!! (supposed there is no way we can debrand it)
However, a very clever guy, I think it might be Mr Lazer (the author of SEtools). He modified a debranded Z800 flash file which made it compatible to V800 or V802
The photo I attached is actaully a modified & debranded R1X Z800 file in a V800 phone!
+ve is the icons are debrand & (a 4x digit zoom - not 100% sure about this info)
-ve is since the firmware file inside the phone is Z800 which this phone is not available in UK yet, my customer told me he can only browse the wap, but he can't download the ringtones with an error message "This phone is not in our supported list".
I flashed the phone back to R1J - EU9, the phone came back with all vodafone icons.. but the wap, ringtones download are all okay now..
The reason for all is because the Z800 phone is not in the vodafone supported list at the moment.. but I think this problem will be resolved after Z800 launched in UK or an official V800 debranded file came out.
Therefore, until now, there is still no a perfect solution for debrand / unbrand the customised icons on V800

When you say +6.5 megs more, you mean that the phone memmory will have about 10megs free? I don't think that's possible. Pls let me know if I'm wrong |

How does it work??? Are you able to access the 3 portal... once the settings are in their???

this is the setting I used on LG U8120 - Three ...(I sent this info to the customer which I debranded his V800 (Z800) before and he says it works....hope at least, it helps you a bit

i'm assuming that if you DO unbrand the phone then you can make video calls on the three network and access their web portal?

yup...wap, sms, vedio calls, browsing internet ..are no problem
just one thing is you cannot download ringtones or vedio from service provider web until Z800i is put on their supported list
(however, I think V800 is also not on 3 supported list yet)...so I pressume it doesn't affect u much..
