I've just rang up the place where I account is held (Which is not actually O2, but I am on the O2 network) and they said that the 915000 is not free. Could they be lieing ?

sorry, but maybe I misunderstood your question. I know that the 915000 number provides free wap on GENIE, but are you asking whether you could just get the wap configurator you can get for genie from the SE site and use it for OTHER network providers? If so, the person on the phone is probably not lying- cellnet and genie are considered separate entities, and Cellnet will have its own wap service. I may be wrong tho....

Only genie customers get free access, 915000 is also regular 02 dial up number, but non genie customers have to pay the charges that 02 have set for their tariff. So no, 02 werent lying.

whats bollocks about it? the whole idea is that you get free sms & wap so long as you top up £10 every 30 days which you still get to use as voice calls credit...is this a bad deal?

Its a cool deal there is nothing wrong with it.

But...as I have a contract now I can't leave the Genie chip to one side and just use it for WAP I have to top it up every month. But I think I am going to have to use my dad's Genie chip since he uses it still

I am not with contract on Genie. I have a pay-as-u-go Genie chip which gave me Free Wap and 300 texts.

I am on contract with O2. All the phones on pay-as-u-go are shite. Thats why I got the T68i on contract. There is no way I am going to pay £370 for a phone. Over the next 12 months its going to cost me just over £200.

i've checked out the O2 tariffs, seems like the wap & free sms is a thing of the past somewhat.
