I was just checking what phones Orange now have in stock and noticed the T290i, I do not know much about this phone:

Orange Say:

'Sony Ericsson’s sturdy T290i has a speaker phone, large phone book and email. It has great games such as V-Rallly™ and Five Stones and is Java ™ capable.'

It sounds like a good simple phone. I didn't realise this was coming out so soon!

Its a good entry level phone. But the screen is below par. Only 101*80. But has email, amr tones, and quite a few features which aren't normally found on phones in its price range.

I don't think there's much difference between the T230 and the 290.

If it has java support, there is a good chance it has a gprs modem.

Hey guys i've compared both phones and i didn't see a great difference from the t230. I didn't see a speakerphone nor java applications.

I'm sure there is a speakerphone, SE site (here) also claims that there is a speakerphone in t290i as well as downloadable games.
