checked with SESS in SM city, they still have the R2L for K700. they have however R2AE for K500 only. can somebody email me where i can find R2AE in PH... i think i need a firmware upgrade since my phone directory is malfunctioning...

Semicon still has R2L. It maybe a while before we will see R2AE here.

just bought a k700i yesterday from Mega Cellular and it already has a R2AE033 firmware version. may facility sila dun for installing stuff so baka meron na din sila n'yang firmware na yan.
Mega Cellular's at SM Megamall.

Is 'Mega Cellular' one of  's authorized dealers?
A warrantied phone upgraded thru an unauthorized dealer will void it's warranty.

Ok lang magpa-upgrade sa hindi authorized dealer kung yung phone mo ay hindi rin naman binili sa authorized dealer. Wala rin naman kasing warranty na maaring ma-void.

i asked semicon rockwell, they have the R2ae already, but its for 500...

john, i doubt if they have r2ae already, coz all semicon has the same fw unless, they have the latest na on friday...
upgrading your unit yourself will not void warranty... actually you can upgrade via SE website, but i dont know what fw they have for Ph... but on euro, they have r2ae already

some things about r2ae you might want to know...
- there's no way to "silence" the camera sound.
- phone book search is back to one letter searching.
- protected files cannot be deleted by overwriting it first. hindi nagwowork yung overwrite e, it just saves the file with [1] appended.

i think what you have there is asian language...
eu languages has multicharacter search... flashing using different software can take the shutter sound off when in "silence" mode
