Hi there! Which connection are you using? Airtel or hutch? If you have subscribed to a "wap only" service you won't be able to access the net from your phone. And if you are trying to use your T230 as a gprs modem. It won't work because the T230 cannot be used as a modem.

I've activated GPRS in my cellone connection with internet facility. I experience the same problem - it connects, but not a single byte of data received. I tried the APN as "bsnlsouth" but wasn't able to connect. When i tried "bsnlwap", i was able to connect but no data received. I think it is some problem with the config in computer. Can anyone help?

@happy720 & georget85

Make sure that you are dialing the correct number, it should look like this:

*99***x*#

'x' corresponds to the number of the data account on your mobile you wish to use. Starting with the account at the top of the list, the data accounts are normally numbered from 1, so the second account in the list will be '2' and so on.

Also ensure that you have and are using an "Internet GPRS" account, not a "WAP GPRS" account. My network also has made available a CD for auto setup for PC/laptop GPRS connectivity. Speak with your operator to see what specific help they can render.

Confirm with the cellone folks whether you have a wap only connection or a full net connection?

You got a star out of place on that dial up numbeR scotty it's x# at the end. No star between, and some phones need Z at the end too.

@BOSSHOGG

I use a '*' at the end when dialing my GPRS account, it seems to work fine for me.

Its a big misconception that you need igprs to access internet on pc and not normal gprs...i've used normal gprs of both major operators here and successfully use phone as gprs modem(i'm usin it at this very instant). All you need is use proxy settings...after your pc displays the connected message go to internet options in IE or watever browser you use and enable proxy. Use your ip add as proxy server and in port no add 8080(for airtel) or 9401(for hutch) ENJOY!!

Dont know how gprs settings are configured in a nokia but anyways all 3 hutch data accounts should have the same settings hopefully so select any one...(in se phones if we select a account and press more it shows account no, maybe there is somethin like this in your phone as well)...or you could always use n trial n start with account no1 first. Once connected just conf proxy settings in your web browser.
