Look at my signature in the previous post... thought that
HTML was enabled I guess I'm the only one using
a sig anyway
Let's see how it looks like now.

Even worse. Let's get back to an ugly but readable signature.
Sorry for the spam guys... I'm setting up my account here so
I had to try a few things out

Geee... just figured out that changing the signature changes
it EVERYWHERE even in old posts... all this spam for nothing,
I guess I should go to bed. It's 3:35 in the morning anyway...
I'll shut up my mouth then. Promised.

Are you sure you want to be putting your mobile number in your sig for everyone to read? I personally wouldn't!
Anyway welcome to Esato!

Orange is the only provides without MMS and in order to have e-mail on the phone you have to pay 20.- extra! And also downloads are limited. This is UGLY.I will in to the US for five months, hope this will change by then...Providers are still competing on coverage and not on services, are they blind?

Hi Swiss mates! (and others)
Oh yes... unending problems with Orange... but I'd rather stick with them than filling Swisscom's pockets!
What about Sunrise then?? Hmmm... maybe the best solution for tech freaks who don't care whether the network coperture changed from 98.85% to 98.90% during the last week... (hello Orange!)
Before I sold my T68i + MCA-20, I had to buy a Sunrise prepaid card to be able to send pics via email!!!

Edwardm, thanks for the welcome I have no fear in leaving
my cell number in my signature. I trust the human condition enough
to think that there is no-one dumb enough to spam my phone with
calls... And if somebody is clever enough to hack my T68 and steal
my calendar or my contacts, I hope he will call me, I'd be very
interested in his skills
Hi Pinolo, Doowap, I was with Orange at the time where nobody
knew what GPRS stands for. But beside the price, Swisscom still
has a better service, that's why I give them my money now.
I'm really looking forward for UMTS, that might very well be a
good reason to drop them and use an outsider.
Cheers

Hi all
Actually, I’m quite happy with Swisscom !!
Especially now, with MMS for free until September…!! With some friends, also T68 owner’s, we have quite a lot of fun…!!
However, I doubt that I’ll use the MMS a lot when we have to pay for it… it will be much too expensive…
Have fun

Free ?? MMS ??? I didn't know that ! and I have R1B anyway... (
I also like Swisscom for two things :
When you call 111 you can press :
5 to dial the given number
6 to receive the complete address by SMS
You can access the COMBOX (Pro) by the web and
receive faxes/voicemails by email.

hi
orange doesn't offer mms. and when they do you will not lnow it... mostly, orange doesn't anounce changes on the web page. the last change with the gprs prices got only published after an email where i told them that this is not conforming to swiss law. they simply stopped the gprs for wap for 5 chf per month and substituted it by chf 5 per month for acces to their portal and a rather high price per mb.
well, this was the end of my gprs subscription. i know that the backbone mb prices cannot be the same in gsm networks, but from 5u$ per gb to 10 chf per mb is exagerated.
so are the swisscom and the sunrise prives. i'm not talking about sending mms for 1 to 2 chf per mms, i'm talking about paying a fortune for accessing emails with imap or reading news with wap.
using gprs for internet on the laptop is only for rich people. but i think they will not pay because to get rich one has to know how to get along with money....
i have 512 kbs at home and 100mbs at work. the few hours on business trips will stay connection freee if prices remain that high.
could go on for hours complaining about the gsm providers, but i think everybody out there could.
there are simply not enough providers in swiss. |

What about Orange in France? Is Orange all the same around Europe?
Looking for a French provider that can offer me Email and GPRS access for my IPAQ without some additional ridiculous extra charges.

my experiences with france are limited to sms traffic:
from orange swiss it is possible to send sm(s) to orange france and sfr.
from sfr no sm make their way to orange swiss and only some sm from orange france.
orange france even charges for sending sm from their web portal.
