I have on old but working T100 which I keep in the car just in case, but it has no sim in it currently. I'm thinking of putting a pay as you go sim into it too, just in case I lose/forget my phone and need a phone of some description. Now, it will obviously need credit, but with it's infrequent use, which UK network's credit either doesn't expire for a while, or is there a network where the credit doesn't expire at all?

Off the top of my head, I think the UK networks are much the same - you need to make 1 call every 6 months to keep the SIM "live".

I had a feeling it was something like that - does the same go for the credit too?

I think credit lasts a year. Check out Virgin - £10 for a SIM with £5 of credit on it. But I think the initial credit only lasts 30 days. I'm sure the info might be on each networks site.

Go for a virgin SIM and set up a Direct Debit. That way there is no minimum usage and you needn't ever worry about not having credit when you actually need to use the phone (which invariably happens!)
