Just got some credits for setool. I want to unbrand my voda K700i. I am puzzled to which files I should download. Could someone please tell me which files I need to download to have the latest software?
Many thanks in advance. I hope someone can help me out. I did try to search but I could'nt find anything to tell me which files I need. | |

r2ae is the latest.... then choose which region you want.. eg eu1, eu2...

I have downloaded k700r2ae_main.bin and k700r2ae_sfa.eu5.cry. Are these the correct files to use? |

Hello, let me shed dome light.
You need a main firmware file, as 619 says.
The one you have is fine.
However the other file you have is wrong. You need an fs image not the sfa upgrade pack. If you require english language, i would go for EU1.
For example, we need:
European: k700r2ae_main.bin.zip
and
European: k700r2ae_fs.eu1.zip

You should have downloaded and unzipped the following files:
k700r2ae_main.bin.zip - EUROPE main flash file
k700r2ae_fs.eu5.zip - English, French, German & Italian
These files will then be used to upgrade the firmware on the phone.

Hello everyone. As the avatar suggests, I'm a T68i owner. I was able to succesfully have my phone flashed with a Chinese fw at my SE service center.
I recently bought a new K500 with the intention to flash it with Chinese as well. I contacted the same guy who flashed my T68i in the past and he said he could help.
Long story short, they encountered problems and weren't able to flash it.
I currently have the R2AA... fw, with the emea6 language package. I've been reading various posts about different flashing tools, and all the new firmware versions for a few days already.
I'm hoping to purchace a T28 cable to use with SETOOL. Here are a few things I'd like to do:
1) Upgrade to R2AE
2) Remove the camera shutter noise
3) Install the Chinese package.
Now I tried to post over at SETOOL's support forum, but I just registered, and I still didn't get the activation e-mail yet. I read a few things on setool's site, and I wanted to get more info.....
It says that one of the features of SETOOL is “building custom language packages". Now, what I want is for my phone to be able to read/write in Chinese, and be able to at least read Arabic. The Chinese language pack has Arabic reading capabilities (don't know why). So before reading that pdf, I only wanted to flash my phone with the chinese language pack. However, if it's possible, it would also be great to be able to install both the chinese AND the EMEA6 pack (which has arabic) so I could read and write chinese and arabic on the same phone!
First of all, can anyone confirm if this is doable? Second, if it's possible, would I loose multi-character search in the phonebook because I have the Chinese language installed? (Tricky, I know!)
If someone knows an answer to this rather complicated question, please let me know! If you know who can answer my question, I'd be grateful to you if you told me who

Ok, I read SEtool's user's manual and here is what I found out.
It says it is possible to add more than one language pack. It can also mod the phone so it would be possible to get rid of the camera sounds when in silent mode. The most important thing when adding extra language packs is that the main firmware file, File System image (FS) and the language pack (SFA) ALL be of the same firmware version.
Here's an update of what I want to be done
1) Upgrade to firmware version R2AE
2) Add EMEA6 language pack (with arabic)
3) Add Chinese language pack
4) Remove camera sounds in silent mode
5) Upgrade camera sw to 3.1
6) Maybe adjust one of the SMS notification sounds
Questions:
1) Are the following files the right combanation?
K500 Main Firmware file: R2AE
Flashfile: k500r2ae_euro_main.bin.zip
K500 File System image: R2AE
Flashfile: k500r2ae_fs.emea8.zip [EN RU] English, Russian
K500 Firmware Upgrade Pack: R2AE
FS Flashfile: k500r2ae_sfa.chinese.cry.zip Chinese1 [EN ZS] English, Chinese Simplified (ZS)
FS Flashfile: k500r2ae_sfa.emea6.cry.zip [EN FR AR FA RU] English, French, Arabic, Farsi, Russian
2) Since I'm installing the euro R2AE firmware with the EMEA8 FS, will I still have multi-character search in phonebook although I have Chinese installed?
3) By installing the chinese and EMEA6 language packs, does that mean that I would be able to write in all the languages included in these two packs, and be able to switch the phone's menu to these languages? [EN FR AR FA RU ZS]
4) Can I change one of the SMS notifications into AMR or MP3 for that matter?
5) How many credits would I need for doing all these updates?
Please help you guys! I can't wait till I fix up my phone!
